It depends on the problem. Can you be more specific?

hey,
good choice on instruments. One thing you will definately need-- someone that knows how to play ANY brass instrument. Be it tuba, french horn, or piccolo trumpet-- find a french (or preferably a teacher/band director) that can give you advice. Consider private lessons also-- these are not easy instruments to learn, and it might be like 6 months before you can play a scale without cracking a note, but dont think of that as discouragement. and remember--
1. Open up.
2. BREATHE.
also, take your trombone to a good tuner once your comforatable with the slide positions, and find out exactly where each note is located.

My problem is that the embochure is way way too big for my lips... I mean I can`t seem o cover even a bit of it, and my head gets in the way. Also it seems really awkward to hold! the slide is working though The sound I make is kind of strange 2

Also I`m not sure that the part that makes the sound come out is big enough... it`s like only one tenth the size of the part I`m blowing into!

Um, do you mean you were trying to blow into the bell? Probably not, but you know that you get the mouthpiece and put it on and purse your lips a bit and vibrate and make a sound right? And the mouthpiece (where you blow in) should be about the size of when you make a ring shape with your thumb and the next finger.

I hear a bassoon reed can fit into a trombone with a little finageling. Try that, it might help. Or stick to playing through the bell. You might just have a new genre.
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Really, BEST POST EVER!!

I like to be original. Someone has already thought of the trombone-bassoon hybrid:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tromboon
So I`ll stick with bell-end playing.
Oh well, I geuss soprano piano is going to have to go into retirement for a while

Dude, I`m totally trying that. Anyone know where I can get a bocal for cheap? And by cheap I mean less then $10... Do they exist? Or should I just build one out of PVC pipe and used toilet paper rolls?

Awesome. That link rocks. I nearly fell out of my seat on a couple of those.
Anyone want to buy me a contra bass?

Haha, I`ve used that website as a shopping list for years. I especially like my new Soprano. in a few months, my friend and I are investing in a superbone and the zepher, so we can play duets, so odd!
