You should really stick to the items your band teacher tells you to play, that way you don`t get confused and you can talk about it in class when you don`t understand something, or at least do this until you get good.

My advice to you right now is to find a private lesson teacher. Talk to that person about getting some fun music. That way, they can work with you on it and it`ll be more fun because you won`t get as discouraged. Stick with the t-bone! It rox!

Since you are new you should get a private teacher. To me that is the best thing for you. Then after a couple lessons ask him to give you some advice on what kind of music to play. Good Luck

the blues. My favorite song to play on the trombone is easy street. Yes the one from annie. In band we had a variation from the movie and i got to play a solo part from the beginning of the song, but when it gets fast its the best jazz out there/

If you have a high school band near you which im sure you do, you could go there and ask the students to give you tips. In my band all the top players will be glad to help anyone out, or even give lessons. Most of all just practice.

Hey, I`m just starting my 4th year playing t-bone and I have some advice that might help a little. First of all, if your director is giving you REALLY easy music and you already know how to play it and are really bored (hopefully this wont happen) go home and, if you think you`ve got it down, go ahead and play something harder. I know we had these little books that we had to use and I got through that in a few months. Just make sure you practice it right, or else you`ll develop a habit of playing it the wrong way.
