I just ready somthing about bitching people, and thought i might add my own two cents... I play in pit orchestra for my high school.... Nothing extraordinary what so ever, but since i mostly play jazz, the different tempos and key signatures is a great way for me to mix it up.... But what really sucks, is when the french horn sitting to your right is supposed to be playing the same pitch as you, and is in fact a full half a step to a full step lower..... Whats a good way to stop your ear drums from bursting with what i would call noise instead of music???

Just tell the horns that they`re out of tune. Most of us (horns) are really picky about tuning and they`ll fix it. It`s not their fault that horn is hard to keep in tune.

Don`t show that you know the horn player made a mistake (during performances) However...if it is during practices, he or she should be able to learn.

There`s a process called Long Tones, with a TUNER!!! Have him/her look into that...xD

french horns arent that hard to get in tune. Its harder to get a trombone in tune. You have valves push em down and BAM sound. 1/100 of an inch off on a slide and its a bit wacky.

french horns, biggest whiners.
