Great day today in the life of me... I got my new trombone!!!! Walked into the band room, my director yelled at me and told me he needed to see me in his office. Im thinking crap, what did i do? I dont think i did anything to get myself in trouble. I walk in and he hands me a BEAUTIFUL Bach Strad 36BO.... It was the highlite of my day!!! Great sounding horn... Our jazz band is playing in a wedding reception of one of our former trumpet players, so we broke out the big band songs, and the 36BO had a great sound to it, just great for first and second parts.... I just love the sound that horn makes.

Ah...the Bach 36 BO...same one I have....I remember being at Dillon Music (in Woodbridge, NJ) I was trying out a Conn, Holten, Getzen, and Bach...finally decided on the Bach....

If you moved up form a student trombone to a professional horn...do a LOT of long tones....and fill that sucker up with air......

This trombone will be my third one... I already play professionally, but i had a benge. I got that trombone when i was in 8th grade and didnt realize where my "musical career" was headed. had it for either 4 or 5 years... Wanted a new horn, tried a conn 88HCL, didnt care for it, tried a few others. Liked the 36BO the best... the bore works well for jazz, i play mostly 2nd, but also first and third. It also has a great sound for when i play in my symphonic band as well. Ill be going off to college next year, where i will be playing in the pep band and jazz band hopefully as well. So this works out well for all my needs. My friend who also plays trombone with me was making fun of me, cause now the whole section has bach strads... 3rd has a 42 i have a 36 first has a 36 modified, its all good... also everyone no matter how long they have been playing should play long tones... good excercise, that and lip slurs

Must be nice to go to a school with that kind of money.... Wow, pretty awesome. The trombones at the school I work at... well.... let`s just say they kinda work. Sometimes. I wouldn`t pay more than about $15 bucks for any of them, and that would be for use as a flower pot. Guess that`s what we get for having the Governator.
