Hi, I want to buy a new trombone and i` d like to buy the bach 16 (dual bore). I have a fantastic conn 88h (1975) and i love it but i need a trombone to play jazz and pop music (always in brass section with trumpet and tenor sax) with a brighter sound ....do you think bach 16 is right for me or the bore is to small?
Thank you.

bach 16s are perfect for commmercial work like you need. A lot of the guys in town here in LA use bach 12s and 16s. i avoid the gold bell only because the natural tendencies of gold.
your other choice would be to try out a king 2b. another greater commercial horn.
good luck

What I do...is that I just buy a smaller mouthpiece...-_- I have a Bach 36 Open Wrap Converitible....and use a 6 and 1/2 for jazz, 5GS for classical (both vincent bach mouthpieces)
A Bach 16...never played it...what is it...a size of a Student trombone roughly?

I`ve been playing a 16m with the gold bell for 15 years now, and I don`t see myself playing anything else for jazz/pop stuff anytime soon. Yeah, the 2B is a great horn, but I love my 16m.

The Bach 16m has a .509 bore, similar to the King Silversonic 3B(.508 bore). The King 2B has a .500 bore.
