Does anyone know where the finger placement for the F# and G# on the E string of a violin is? I got one day to learn this peice and I dont know where those notes are

Hi!
F# is one whole step above E and G# is one whole step above F#.
That`s *about* an inch for each of them.
To put it another way, the F# on the E string is the same distance down the fingerboard as the E on the D string; the G# on the E string is the same distance as the F# on the D string.
The main thing is that it should sound in tune with "Do-Re-Mi" (with the open E string being Do.)

You are problably playing in the key of A-major, which consists of A B C# D E F# G# a.
Notice that on the violin, because it is tuned in fifths, if your tonic (the bottom note of the scale) is an open string, then the fingering on that string, and the next string up, will be essentially identical. In other words, the interval from A to B on the A string is the same as the interval from open E to F#. Similarly, the interval from f# to G# is the same as the interval from B to C# on the A string.
