The viola is alto cleff. The cello is mostly bass cleff and I think its high stuff is sometimes on tenor cleff.

Hi Kevin,
the wooden violin tuning pegs are very difficult (for me ) to use by themselves.
The fine tuners aid in this process: If you aren`t carefull when
you`re tuning, the other three strings will slip in pitch...
which is seriously anoying. The fine tuners are a good deal less prone to this difficulty.
Much love,
Jonny

Hi. I`ve played the violin for 5 years and I think if you start out strong, you`ll do fine. I am starting the flute (hah, the opposite of you) this year, so tell me, is flute hard?

Hey, I`ve played violin for about three years and it`s the best thing that ever happened to me. I don`t think it`s hard to play if you`re optimistic and you have a good teacher, but since so many people play it the competition for chairs or getting into orchestras is incredible. I auditioned for the local youth orchestra and it was reeeeeally difficult to get into. But just keep trying and do your best, and try to find a style of music that suits you. Some people are better at fiddling than classical. Whatever is best.
Oh, and when you`re choosing a violin, go to a proffesional shop and get the one`s in your price range, then try ALL of them. That way you can see which ones fit your liking, which ones sound better or whatever just feels right. Bows can also make a huge difference; when I moved from a fiberglass bow to a wooden bow, it made an unbeleivable difference!!
Luck to you all. Keep playing!
