Hi i just wanted to know about this violin i found in my grandmas attic. it lookes really really old but i don`t play the violin or any other insterments so i don`t really know about name brands. so when i played it it sounded really good to me. so any ways the name looked like it was from a different country so sorry if i spell it wrong cuz the named is half chiped off. o.k the begining of the name started with Stratava, and thats all i know about it.

Sounds like Stradivarius to me. From what I understand (having not tried too many different violins, and not knowing much about different companies)Stradivarius violins are supposed to be darn good! Fairly expensive as well.

All Strads are accounted for. There are thousands upon thousands of Strad copies out there - it means nothing at all. It`s impossible to tell you anything about the violin without seeing at least good detailed photographs.
