If you`re an adult or teenager you get 4/4. The smaller ones are children`s sizes.

Rosin is a substance that helps the bow hair create friction on the string. (friction causes vibration, thus making sound)

ps. try not to touch the bow hair.

4/4 if you`re over 5`2.
And I wouldn`t spend over $500, until you`re sure if you like it.

You might want to rent one first, to make sure you like it and understand the amount of work that will be required to sound good on it. Then consider buying one when you can make a more informed decision.
