Does anyone know where I can go to find out about a violin?? My father-in-law has come across a violin or a fiddle and wants to find out if it is worth anything and some information about the violin. Any help will be appreciated!! Please e-mail me at svlovingood@aol.com.

Go to your local music shop. They`ll tell you everything and even they`ll sell it for you too.

before you sell or visit the music shop be informed....check your public library for a set of 3 book on violin valuation and pricing...they were written in late 1970`s, I had to bet them on inter library loan...I found them of value in determining my 1965 Roth violin value...so much more info in the books...A music shop will give you 1/2 its worth and they get the profit. you can advertise in the paper and possibly get close to or the full value depending what buyers in your area are used to.
good luck
