There is no difference, it`s just the style of music you play with it that differentiates them.

Fiddle and violin are the same instrument

often times, traditional fiddlers would file down their bridge so that they could play multiple strings (at the same time) easier.i suppose it really depends on what you mean by fiddle: do you mean fiddle as in the instrument or as in the music?
