I have a Nicolo Amati violin from 1672 year. Could anyone please tell me what is the value of the named violin? Where can I check its authenticity? Thank you...

Several years ago, an elderly couple found a "Stradivarius" in the attic. They called the TV news guys, who were dumb enough to cover the story. It was embarassing to see see this old couple dancing around their yard with a cheap, painted-purfling, mail-order German sweatshop fiddle, acting like they`d just hit the lottery. I have an Nicolaus Amati 1650, probably German with a "copy of" label. they aren`t quite a dime-a-dozen, like the kazillion-or-so Strad copies, but mine is a decent bluegrass fiddle for under $100.
