Hey! This is my first post here.. so I'm sorry if this topic has been posted already. I didn't see it, and I did go back a few pages. But anyway, I have a bow that I've had for a few years but I haven't been able to use it. The hair, what there is of it, is filthy, and even with a ton of rosin on it I can't get any sound at all. My problem is that there seems to be a crack on the bow between the frog and the screw... So I guess my question is: should I bother getting it rehaired, even though it's cracked?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

You should bring your bow to your violin person and ask him/her if they think it's worth it. Also ask your teacher.
