We have bought two Gliga violins by now, to start a 1/2 size Genial 2 from Elida trading and the second is a marvelous 3/4 size Gems model. I bought an older Primavera 200 as a second violin for my daughter to use at school. Unfortunately, she refused to play it because it was so terrible. I will admit that it was very rough when compared to the Genial and had slipping pegs, which made it difficult to tune.
It is probably my fault for buying her a Gems. She's just done her Grade 3 and is a serious student. Anyway, I am still looking for a reasonably priced second violin to use at school that plays reasonably well.
The school offers a purchase scheme, I could get her a Stentor Conservatoire, which is cheaper, but not necessarily better then the Genial 2. I don't want to spend too much, as we'll be looking into a full size Gems or better next year probably. Her sibling will be moving out of the 1/2 size soon. Any suggestions!?!
