Hello, My name is Will Shoemaker. I live in Pennsylvania. My Grandfather was a great fiddle player. He past away in 2000 of heart failure. He left behind 10 violins. They were all around $1000 when he bought them way back when. We gave one away to a charity. I am now 14 and my grandmother does not want to see the violins sit and go useless. I play Tuba, trumpet, percussion, drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, and saxophone. I tried playing the fiddle, but I have no clue where to start. Teachers cost too much, I have picked up all the other instruments myself and was self taught. I was thinking of picking up a beginners book to learn from. My question is, can someone point me in the direction of the first step to playing. Possibly a internet site or a book to order, or just tell me a few things. I will listen to all advice given.
Thank you,
Will
Here are some pictures of the violins my cousin painted
