The choices are between a Gliga, a Yamaha, and a Scott Cao. They each strike a different cord within me and have wonderful tones. The Scott Cao is bright and playful but the Gliga Gems 2 is deep and rich. But alas, the Yamaha Silent Electric woul be wonderful to practice on with annoying my family or the neighbors. My price range is around $600.00 give or take. My teacher really has no preference she just told me to go to the Violin Shop (the only one in town) and look around which isn't my type of thing. What would you reccommend for a beginner? I want something intermediate so that I can grow into it, without spending a ton of cash and when I get better I can upgrade to something better.

Don't take my word for it, as I am new to the violin, but I have been reading violin price and quality reviews for weeks.

You can also do this if you want!

Out of all of the violins that I have been looking at for under $700.00, time and time again, I have read that the Barcus Berry BAR-AE is the one.

It comes in several cool colors. It is an Acoustic and Electric, unlike the solid body Fender!

The fiddle players for Rascal Flatts, Gretchen Wilson, Tim McGraw, Clay Walker Band, Bob Seger, Louise Mandrell, Dave Matthews, etc plays the Barcus Berry BAR-AE. You can buy one for $394.00. It comes with a state of the art pickup, case, and bow.( Shipping Included in price )

After driving myself nuts for days, and reading review after review. This is the one that I ordered last week from Ebay. It should be here in a few days.

They must be pretty good if a bunch of A List Road Musicians are using them now! I will let you know what I think of it, when mine gets here! I bought the blue one. I think it looks pretty cool!
