Hi guys. If you've read the thread 'FILIPINO VIOLINIST...' I was one of the active posters there named 'Mark'. Matagal akong hindi bumisita sa site na ito, ngayon lang uli :| I have put a lot of hours in my five years of playing my beloved instrument. I studied playing the violin for 3 years in Lyric music school until college ate up my weekends. If any of you guys in the Philippines are interested in finding a teacher in learning the basics of playing the violin, i'd be happy to teach you!(Syempre for a fee) But, its gonna depend on my availability, as I am currently a college sophomore in the Ateneo. If you guys doubt my skill, I play during the Institutional Masses in the Ateneo de Manila University.

Thanks!

HEY! DON'T GIVE OTHER FILIPINO VIOLINISTS OR CONSERVATORY TRAINED TEACHERS A BAD REPUTATION!!! Playing/ studying the violin for three years even for 5 to 7 hours a day does not qualify nor equip you to teach!!! You may mean well but you will be doing more damage to your students than good. A Beginning violin student needs the best teacher that he or she can find. It's the most important phase of ones learning, the foundations. This is very disrespectful to all those who studied very hard for 10 or more years and even went to Music Colleges to learn Violin Pedagogy or even study further to qualify as a Suzuki Teacher.

If you have studied extensively Music Theory, History and Music Performance, you would not even dare teach with only three years. Try to learn the strategies of the Russians and other great European Schools. Filipinos have a lot to learn from the Koreans and the Chinese when it comes to Music Education. Nobody there would even dare teach after 5 years of studying the violin. There are many talents in the Philippines, they simply need to work harder and get the right exposure.
