Would it be extremely challenging to take up the violin from wind intruments? Are beginner violins expesive?

If one knows enough musical theory, it should be as easy as switching from a bike to a motorcycle.

A bit harder than that I would have thought, but I know plenty of adult beginners. Don`t know where you are, but over here in the UK beginner violins start at about £60 (but you get what you pay for!) In the US I have seen them down to about $50 on ebay. I would recommend spending rather more than that though, unlike woodwinds, beginner violins are actually harder to play than good ones.

Thats for me to know and for you to find out!!? Anyway the violins p*ss
easy to play, as long as your determined and willing. You can get a good student outfit from `Stentor music` for about £90-£120 with an extra £25 for decent strings etc. If you decide to take it up then good luck... C ya
