Hi everyone,
I was thinking about getting a new bow for my student violin ($200-300), so I was hoping somebody can recommend a good bow to buy for less than $50.
Also, does anybody have any experience with Helicore strings for classical music? My last set has been Dominants and I think I would like to go back to steel strings.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Helicore Strings will give your Violin a warmer tone. Get the Wound E instead of the Plain E. Helicores sound great with Classical Music as well. Terrific for the price!
Bows are different with each player. You have to try each one out prior to purchase. I bought a $300 bow at the Violin Shop, it worked for me. (or borrow a friend's bow). Then I weighed it with a gram scale. I've bought a lot of great bows on EBay with sellers who list the gram weight & saved a lot of money.
Rosins to consider- Motrya Gold (light)& Andrea(dark). Great stuff! A little goes a long way & brings out a wonderful tone.
Hope this helps.
