Hi,

I was wondering if I could get some help. My neck is super long and I have a hard time practicing the violin due to severe neck pains. I already have a violin shoulder rest but it's too short. My neck is about 7 inches from the base of my neck to my ear. My chin to my collar bone is around 6 inches as well. Is there anyway to find a super large shoulder pad? I already tried to wrap the one I have with a scarf but it's still to short.

Thanks for all your help.

The feet on the shoulder rest screw in and out to ajust the hight, if they are not as long as you need them, There is a way to add to the lenth of that screw.

If you can`t find anyway to do it, email me. Mr_violin@hotmail.com

Half a century ago, there was no shoulder pad, and violinists still played violin well.
Nowaday, shoulder rest is a must. You may make yourself a thicker shoulder pad to install onto your existing shoulder rest. You also want to pay a capenter to make it, too. Or a mechanic.

Hi Vietviolin,

Thanks for the advise. Do you know of any DIY sites to custom thicken my existing violin shoulder rest? I'm very good at diy so I could probably do it without a mechanic.

Thanks and happy new year!
