I've been thinking about experimenting with my violin and changing the tone of it. I love to create new sounds. I'm thinking about not using the E string for the E string position on the violin but using an A string for the E string and also using the D string for the A string. Will it damage my violin if I don't use the correct strings for each note?
Thanks for your help.

Yes the gauge of the strings needs to be exactly right. This will save you from having to get your neck reset, could cost a lot of money depending on the amount of neck curvature. Could also mess with your bridge, I would think.
