Hey all,

I'm looking for some help on choosing a new violin. I took lessons as a kid and never carried on with them due to constant moving however I did ended up taking up guitar in my teenage years and still currently play. I'm hoping to pick up a relatively cheap violin around the $500 mark (or possibly trade one of my guitars) as I'm a university student and I can't really drop the coin on another instrument. I'm currently looking at a few violins locally and would like some info on them if anyone could chime in.

The first is a German made Glaesel VI31ECH. Comes with complete outfit and the buyer wants around $600 for it. Doesn't sound bad price wise but my violin knowledge is quite limited.

Next up is a Knilling Bucharest Outfit for $225. I have done some reading on their site and I love the idea of the perfection tuning pegs. I haven't contacted this seller yet to see if this particular violin has them installed but I will in the morning. Overall I haven't heard much of the brand itself but they seem solid decent from the specs I've read.

Last is a Fender electric violin for $315. I know Fender as a guitar brand as I am a strat lover at heart although I play PRS guitars almost exclusively. I'm not sure how great Fender is with their violin making but if its decent I wouldn't mind taking a shot at it.

I'm not limiting myself to these choices so if any of these aren't worth my time or there are better models out there for the price let me know. Thanks for any and all help.

Edit: I have contacted the seller and they will be sending me better pictures and info on the violin. I don't believe that it has the Perfection Pegs installed because it is set up with 4 fine tuners in the one picture that I have seen so far. Not a deal breaker as they could be added to any violin anyway for fairly cheap.
