Does anyone have tips of keeping the elbow angle in order to bow parallel to the bridge?

my teacher told me to keep the bow parallel to the bridge. i can`t quite find the angle due to parallel error to begin with. while i was practising earlier, i discovered that i can use the edge of the fingerboard as a guide. it works out better after that.
does anyone of any other ideas?

While doing a down-bow, pull the bow away from you; and towards you for an up-bow. Practise like this and eventually the hand will obey you to hold the bow in whichever position.
Since the arm naturally wants to do a down-bow towards your bum, on one extreme, practising with the other extreme ensures that you are capable of any range demanded by your playing.

Jay is right. And remember to adjust the height of your arm. The higher the arm as u play closer and closer to the G string. And U can move yr arms up and down, but not in and out. So, u may wanna stand/keep yr elbow against the wall.

Oh... it`s up and down, not in and out! This makes a lot of difference now.
THank you DW!
