Hi, hope you can help me. I have the option to buy an electric violin or an electro-acoustic violin, but im not sure about the difference of them besides the look/shape. I mostly would like to play heavy metal songs or classic songs arranged for more rock/metal sound, but im not sure if i could play that tones with an electro-acoustic or if i should go with only the electric violin.

Hope you can give me some information about this.

From what I have heard, trying to play distortion etc. through an a/e-violin will cause some feedback. Another thing is that if you don't play really loudly (as in volume up high), than your acoustic sound will probably overpower your distortion sound.

Alot of people recomend electric if you are going to play metal/distortion.
