I`m in the market for a new violin. my sister is a freshamn in high school. she`s been playing for a few years now with the cheapy school one. Wanted to get her a new one. Marshall Music in Michigan has one thats $3000, its made by Eastman, but not sure which model. marshall calls it the Impressario, but I`m sure its just a retagged Eastman. I think there just ripping everyone off, but i could be wrong. I don`t know much about violins, but i thought $3000 for a student was knida alot. Any help would be appreciated. I did read some of the forums, and it sounds like Gliga Gama is a favorite. Any recommendations????

Hi Chris,
Specialist violin shops sell their at anything up to five times as much as the price an average internet seller would charge for the same instrument. I sell on the internet and I know the trade prices.
On the other hand at a specilaist shop you can try the violin, you will know immdeiately if there are any problems, it will be better set up and you will not have problems knowing where to go for any future adjustments.
