Ashley,

this is a very simple and well known tune - can you seriously not work it out by ear?

First, it`s not for me. It`s for a friend of mine. And I did work it out by ear but he refuses to take my word for it and I just some sheet music for him.

I don`t think this tune will be available anywhere on the net in sheet music format, so you can`t get it for free. It will be in any printed collection of Christmas Carols and songs. Most web sites relating to carols assume you know the tune already, because anyone living in an English speaking country, plus most of western Europe, will have heard this carol every Christmas since they can remember.

Sorry I can`t be more help Ashley, but it really is such a well known tune that your friend ought to know it too.

Try 8notes.com. They should have a free copy for you to print out.

All I need it for is for a violin. A simple piece. The music is actually for my 8 year old brother. My friend is his violin teacher and she is so scatterbrained that she either keeps `forgetting` to give him the music or she just doesn`t have it, but he is supposed to perfrom this piece next week in front of a lot of people. I just don`t want my brother to look like an idiot. My parents want me to find a copy of some sheet music because I`m the most familiar with the computer. My family is not big on Christmas music. Otherwise we might just have a copy of it lying around and that way when I tried to come up with it I might be sure it`s right. I haven`t hear the song in a long time and thus am not that certain that I have it right. :O

Next the notes are 2 beat.

Then a full beat note.
