i went to a music shop that was recently opened near me and i was amazed by their stock. Also one thing vought my eye - there were almost 30 different kinds of rosinranging from 3$ to over 60$. So my question is: how can rosin afect your playing? And furthemore - what type of rosin do You use/recommend or sth?

No doubt someone else will have a different opinion...but I was told that unless you are a professional, you are not likely to notice any minute differences between rosins (and even then!). Some of the expensive ones have gold particles added which is supposed to increase brilliance of tone.

However, I wish we had a shop ANYWHERE within driving distance that had even half that sort of selection. Just pick the box you like the best...rosin lasts forever (unless you play a LOT)...

I agree with Nox.

I`ve tried three different types (Hidersine light, Kaplan Dark & Pirastro Goldflex) and I can`t tell any difference. Some types are supposed to be stickier. Of these three Hidersine has the most attractive & robust packing (a nice tin), I`d stick with that.

I would agree, go for nice packaging

I bought a few including the goldflex and can`t tell any difference but, at my level I wouldn`t expect to.

The Gustave Bernardel has anice package and maybe feels alittle softer and easier to apply.

Gustave Bernadel is the best for me.
there are many rosins that appear so different, but most of those are for special needs - eg harder rosin.

Goldflex hurts my eyes...hehe.

Yes, price shouldn`t be a problem since rosin lasts a very long time.
Even if you go for the $60, someone working at McDonalds could earn enough to buy it in a day`s work.
