I AM THIRTEEN YEARS OLD AND I LOVE TO PLAY THE VIOLIN. MY CONDUCTOR TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD CONSIDER PRIVATE LESSONS. I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT OF MY PLAYING AS JUST FOR FUN. SHOULD I GET SERIOUS ABOUT IT RO STICK TO JUST MY SCHOOL ORCHESTRA?

I suppose that`s up to you and your parents.
If you enjoy the instrument - by all means take lessons. I wish I had had the opportunity to do so when I was your age. As far as I`m concerned, learning to play better only adds to your enjoyment by a mile! (Or even more! )

Get a private teacher if your parents can afford it and are willing, you will come on in leaps and bounds, and may end up leading the orchestra!
Just a note on internet practise, typing ALL IN CAPITALS indicates that you are shouting. It`s harder to read, and you`ll get a better reception if you don`t shout.

If your parents can afford it, go for private lessons. Not only will you come on in leaps and bounds but, if you find a teacher who plays your favourite style, you can play the music you want.
