Yeah...They`re alot of threads on this. Don`t worry, everybody gets this problem and needs to grow out of this. I too had this problem 24 yrs ago. Go here for pro advice.

But this`s my personal suggestion :
1. Do alot of basic bowing ex. full bow, separate, minims, then crotchets, then quavers. Go to soloviolin.com for a full instruction on this.
2. Release the tension of the bow a little. Tension produces excellent articulation, but may prove tricky to the beginner. The more tension, the harder it is too wield the bow.
3. Drop yr shoulders completely. Staying relaxed at the correct angle will alter the bow speed and gives you a better downward pull.
4. Learn to get a good bite on the strings.
5. Don`t raise your wrist.
6. Keep your finger 5 tip of the right hand on the bow. This will help to balance the bow.
7. Do the bow swaying ex. Hold it in the right position tightly and sway it left to right. Keep the hand still while doing this.
8. Do the bow balancing see-saw ex.
9. Do alot of scales, full bow and seperate. Minims, crotchets then quavers. Start with up-bow instead of the usual downbow first.
10. Use wohlfahrt. Do not use Kayser...it might be too sdvanced for u.
11. Check your elbow angle. U might be moving your elbows too much. Always move it up and down( string adjustment), and not in and out.
12. Do swim alot to build strong arms. Pls do not carry weights. Excessive muscles building and bad distribution produces tensed co-ordination. Go to soloviolin.com for more reasons on why u shouldn`t lift weights to stabilize bowing.
Thank you.
