Hi I have recently began playing the violin after years of playing the guitar. I use an electronic tuner and pluck the strings to tune. I set them dead on at pitch. However when I use the bow the notes are just a little sharp. is this normal, should I use the bow when I tune.
Thanks

well.. you can get a metranome. mine is a Dr. beat DB-88. it has all the notes and it`s a metranome and you can tap it to find a beat. and it`s better to do it with your bow cus that how it will sound if you play. and you dont` want sharp notes.

It is normal, you should bow when you are tuning in order to hear the note properly.
