Hi everybody,

I learned a lot of "The Devil..." by ear, but then got the sheet music to try to nail the "devil solo". I was suspicious that the solo was improv, and, to my dissapointment, is; making it difficult to replicate exactly (I know, I know, it`s improv, and copying it is really lame). A buddy of mine is in a band and asked me to play the song with him; does anyone have any suggestions with the devil solo? The piece is in D minor; have people found success just sloshing around some high notes in that key? Any help would be appreciated!

OMG, I freaking LOVEyou ALL!! Ever since I started playing the fiddle, I`ve wanted to learn that song, and still haven`t. However, now one of my students wants to pklay it, so I have found and excuse to Learn it. even the link to the biginning is helpful. I think I`ll have to do what you guys are for the rest though, learn by ear, because I`m cheap.

If you really NEED to learn it... just buy the freakin` sheet music. If you`re looking for the beginning part its in the riff section on this page.
Like someone suggested earlier.
Gosh.

Here`s the sheet music for a violin/piano version I arranged last year. It`s mostly cleaned up from MIDI files I`ve found, so the work`s not entirely mine, but I doubt anyone`s gonna sue. The drum and vocal parts aren`t that hard to figure out.

If anyone actually uses this, I`d appreciate it if you`d email me with your comments (or ideally, a recording of your performance :-)

who was this directed to? just out of curiosity...

and to those of you wanting to know how to play the devil solo:

play some random notes that fit in the key. just a scale up and down really fast or an arpeggio in the key that fits. stick in a bunch of slides and things to make it kinda...pop...(for lack of a better word) and you`ve got it.

pretty much just close your eyes, get your fingers in the key, and play.
