To: The Violin Duchess. Thank you for your reply. I have talked to other people about homeschooling and from what they said I have to disagree. Maybe parents are qualified to teach life skills but unless they are teachers they are not qualified to teach school subjects. There are too many things they will not teach properly because it will be too hard for them.

To beks/bekaH: I was trying to be on your side. If you think that`s being mean then you`re not getting it. But I don`t think having dyslexia is an excuse for people to have to be nicer to you than to someone else either. But I did look it up on Google, so now I know what it is - so thanks for letting me learn about something new. And I won`t talk about it anymore either.

About violin. My teacher is from Canada and I am borrowing her RCM books to learn from. I am starting Grade 4. Has anyone else played The Boy Paganini? It is hard but I think it`s fun.

Please don`t get angry if I`m not supposed to do this. I`m way to old to be a homeschooler or any other type of schooler. But about five minutes ago, I came across my first chatroom: "8notes- Violin," then found my way here. You may be interested in a new book, for ages 7-12 and up, about a girl who overcomes obstacles on the road to success as a violinist. It`s titled, "Molly and the Sword," and it`s in lots of symphony gift shops. I wrote it and put it out. You can check out info on amazon.com, etc. If you`ve already read it, please let me know your reaction. Thanks.

Wasn`t the answer to that question just presented in the sales pitch???? Or have I missed something?

The book is just getting out to libraries. If yours doesn`t have a copy, it may be able to get one on loan from a library that does (such as the Brooklyn Public Library). It also seems that some used copies (probably from reviewers) are available at book websites.
