i found out a really good way 2 practise vibrato.......use a yohurt pot! i no it sounds strange, bt f u get a `petits flous`, or `ski` yoghurt pot, then u can practise vibrato easily. all u need 2 do is potition ur fingers around the pot like wen ur on the fiddle and move ur wrist at wotevr speed u want. t only thing is it has 2 be a round yoghurt pot, or else it won`t work. u can cut the top part off, so its 1 cylinder. trust me, it does help.!!! reply with ur thoughts

I cant really give u any advice 4 good vibrato. It is somenting that kind of grows on you. I bought this bk called "Viva Vibrato" but it did not help a lot. Check out music technique books @ the library, that might help.

Um heres another, keep ur thumb on the violin, do not shift it. And dont move it sharper (at least thats what iv been told. Move it back getting flatter than move it to where u started. Dont go to slowy or ull make a wah-wah sound and not too fast unless ur on fast notes. Still, start out slowly, dont rush urslef in it

HI!
Well... I was just looking for the same thing (the right way to learn vibrato) on the web, and I found violintips.com - its a vrey cool website and really helped me learn over again. I never learned right- my vibrato was sideways-I don`t think I wanted to take the time to play it right when I was younger... now I`m trying! Believe me... Its not easy! hope this helps... although it looks like you have plenty!

The most beautiful vibrato should be the one that sounds the note and lowers it. So don`t go over the note...The best way to practice is:SLOWLY!!!!
