Rebecca, a 14 year old child, regardless of how precocious she may be, behaving as you are, is unseemly. I certainly wouldn`t be telling other people that they`re embarrassing themselves.
Take a good look at yourself in the mirror.
Then do yourself a big favour and try and take a peak into the future...

hmmm....
If you paid $5000 for your Stainer, surely it should be playing better than you describe. Have you taken it for a professional set up?
Also, have you heard anyone else play it / played any different violins recently yourself?

That you are as much of a professional player as your friend who started playing the cello at 40 is a professional player. In short, you are simply not using the definition the rest of the world uses.
Still that`s your right i suppose, even if it does make you look silly.
Hey, I just realised i`m a professional organist! I got paid to play the organ at two funerals four years ago!!

it might be better if i change the strings

i think it`ll sound better after i get some new strings and a humidifier. the karl violin i played, the bow glides over the strings effortlessly and produces a solid crisp sound i like. mine, i have to muscle it in a bit more and sounds rougher and less refined.
