P.S. NEVER get a violin that you cant test out. You may end up with a piece of junk if you buy off the internet. just a hint.

That is true but it does depend on who you buy from. You can end up with a piece of junk from a general music shop as well. Or you can end up with a grossly overpriced mediocre violin with a high price tag from a specialist shop.

After lots of debating, thinking and asking questions, I finally took Liz`s advice and bought a gama violin from violinslover. I can definitely testify that itis NOT junk and I have had several teachers comment on the quality of it. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

thanks i will do, unfortunately i`m in my final year at uni and have enough things distracting me from revising as it is so it`ll probably be a while before i get one.
But when i do get round to buying one i`ll definitely get in touch.

I`ve come across a violin, labeled Anton Beder 705, at least I think that`s the number. It needs a little work, but is generally in fine condition. Is anybody familiar with this model and have any information / feedback.
