i recently started using dampit and i put it through the right f hole because the f hole is a tighter squeeze for some reason. there`s no difference in sound, but the soundpost is a little lobsided. if it collapses, what can happen?

If it collapses you must immediately loosen the strings (take the bridge down) then you will have to get a repairer to put it back up.

hmm the violin sounds exactly the same. the only reason i know it moved is because there`s a white spot the size of the soundpost. (you know liek when u got a picture on the wall, you take hte picture down and the part of the wall where the picture was whiter then the wall around it) didn`t expect dampit to move it, but it did lol.

Ahhh! Take it to get fixed immediately! When your sound post moves, the tone of your violin can change. This can be a good thing, but usually it is not. Tootles!
