Hi there,
Does anybody here have experiences with a Silent Violin?
I`m anxious to hear about it.
Thanks.
Happy new year.!

I have the Yamaha silent violin. The sound is absolutely beautiful especially when you use the built in reverb system. When you play it with some sort of headphones its not actually completely silent. The strings still make this sort of dull sound so people can still hear you. You are probably thinking whether to get on or not. My advice is this: if you are SERIOUSLY thinking that you will be playing in a band or with friends than you should get one, that is what any electric instrument is good for. However, if you just want to use it for practice then look elsewhere. The sound quality and tone on the electrics is so smooth and good that your acoustic violin playing will suffer if you repeatedly practice on you electric. When you go back to your wood instrument your tone won`t be nearly as good and dynamics will be much harder to generate.
Good Luck,
Daniil
