I am an Engineering student (don`t know anything about violin!) who would like to buy a violin for my wife as her BD gift. She is beginner.

My budget limit is around 300$.

After search on the internet, I found Cliga violins. Any opinion on them?

Also is it better to buy a standard GEMS 2 or GENIAL 1-OIL and improve bow and strings and tailpiece? How important is to have a fine tuner piece?

I would appreciate any help!

It`s Gliga. And yes, they are wonderful for the price. Gems is substantially better than genial but either is more than a beginner actually needs.

O yes, do get Dominant strings and four adjusters. The Wittner tailpiece looks neater but does nothing for the tone.
