The viola is one of the most prestigious instruments in the world, especially in Germany, it`s just that stupid America thinks that it is ignorant because they`ve never heard of it. It has a much wider range than that of the violin/cello, and is very unique in it`s style. True violists wouldn`t ponder about the idiotic comments on the instrument, because they`re are to busy being good at it than every other violinist, which is 8 out of every 10.

So is the Highland War pipes but everybody jokes about them too. I guess you should consider your self lucky you don`t have a Set of Highland Pipes?

well over here in america we get a lot of hell just for playing viola and i guess its just natural to inquire upon others` apparent dislike to us and our instruments.

well, it`s not even like people make intelligent judgements, they just say viola is stupid. And if they do.....why should it bother you, i say that loosely. I see atleast 2 new "why do ppl hate viola" forums every other day. It just is!!!!!!......get use to it.
