I was just looking at the Strings Magazine website and on the cover is violist Carol Cook!
Forgive me, I so new at the viola my instrument hasn`t even arrived yet.(Tomorrow) But it`s so nice to see a violist on the cover of a music magazine. After looking on the web for information about the viola and finding very little except jokes, well, it`s nice to see something positive.
Oh, by the way, my name is Betsy, I`m new here. I have a violin to which I`m giving serious consideration to selling, and I`m expecting my Gliga viola to arrive tomorrow. I found I love the sound of the viola as opposed to the violin. The violin is ok, but I`m not wild about the "e" string!

VIOLA RULES! Violin is a squeaky, frightened mouse whereas the viola can roar like a lion or purr like a cat. (Hey, [I] like the metaphor!)

I`m glad. It`s always good to have another soldier on the side of Good in the long, difficult war of Violins vs. Violas. (Good would, obviously, be violas.) JK
