Hello, guys. Why do you care whether people you don`t even know hate your istrument? How do you know they hate you? I wish people would stop saying that violinists hate violists, cause it`s not true. Ya`ll are being paranoid. Also, I agree with Dave. Don`t cry because you
think that people don`t like your istrument. Just bang them on the head with it.(Obviously, I don`t mean that literally because over the internet you can`t really do that.)

why can`t people in here spell cousin right. it`s so annoying. ok people it is spelt C O U S I N! ok got it? any ways i myself am a freshmanat eltoro h.s and i play the viola in there orchestra. any ways none of you people have ligidement reasons hy you dislike viola players for most of you its just because you play the violin or you know someone who plays the viola who you dislike. thats stupid because we`re not all like that. infact i used to play the violin. i played it for 4 years then i switched to viola because its easier to aply to colledges because there are fewer violaists than violinists. you people don`t need to waste your time ragging on us because we`re just like you. we are all ORCH.S here atleast we`re not BANDO`S right? so stop the insults and really think about why you don`t like us. is it because you don`t like how the instrument looks or the sound? or is it just because you`re stupid cousin happens to play the viola and is a jerk to you? you think about it, will you? then get back to me.

Okay this is stupid, seriously i mean come on, I am thirteen and are acting more mature than most people who are probably even adults here. The viola is not the best instrument in the world, it is not only played by those who are b*tchy or happy or anything. They are played by those who like the viola, duh!! Why doesnt everyone stop arguing, you cant judge someone by the instrument they play, otherwise what happens to those who dont have instruments, are they non existant?? I play cello, I just started like a month ago, but that doesnt make me any different as to how I`ve always been

My first string instrument was viola, if anyone is still trying to work out whether all violists are ex-violinists! And I think that Jesse-Lee has is most sensible person here.

I play viola and violin, and when I play violin, it feels so small and annoying, and the viola just has much more style and class to it. Besides, when practising with a viola, on average the tones are lower in hertz than on the violin and therefor you can practice wthout that many complaints from the neighbors about not being able to sleep.

lol. i agree. since i begun playing the viola my parents no longer complain that my practicing is annoying. but that mite also b b cuz im no longer in 3rd grade cuz now im in 9th and hav been playin for 6 years.

Well, here is my addition to this topic.

Firstly, allow me to clarify something. In many symphony orchestras, the violists there are usually violinists first. However, there is a growing number of people who choose to play the viola as their first choice of instrument. I am one of these people. I am 28 years old, and I have played the viola since I was 12 years old. I have never played the violin in my lifetime.

People such as myself who love to play the viola choose to do so for a variety of reasons. As for me, I did not want to play the violin, because it seemed as if everyone was wanting to play the violin. I wanted to play a unique instrument, and show a bit of individuality.

As for why people dislike the viola, I believe they just do so to boost their own self esteem. Making fun of something unpopular is easy for those who feel the need for a target. But that is okay, because this violist knows who those people really are deep down inside.

Just point and laugh at those ignorant fools.

I pity the fool!
