Hello! Glad someone so young is taking an interest in music! We need more people like you! Despite what some say, violists are not stuck up- just misunderstood. The viola is a very physical instrument (especially down on that c string).

Does anyone elses G string break right before a performance?

I was asking a simple question. As most of us know, the viola has 4 strings: A D G C. My G string has a habbit of breaking before almost every performance and I was just wondering if anyone else had that problem. And I`m not a dude; I`m a girly.

My strings have rarely snapped on me. And I don`t recall ever breaking a string while playing either, although there was that one time when my D string fell completly apart 45 minutes before a performance. It will happen and the best thing to do is have an extra set of strings handy.

Yes, I always have extra strings. I learned that lesson the first time.
