Hi, I know this question may seem to be a little off the topic of viola, which I love and play, but I though seeing as this is a music forum that I could get an answer. Does anyone know of a certain name that Beethoven gave to his fourth symphony? Besides the name `4th Symphony`? I`ve looked on various sites, but have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi! The fourth actually does not have a name, other than "in B flat Major." You may be thinking of the third, which is named "Eroica," or the sixth, which is named "Pastorale." These are the only two of Beethovens nine symphonies to have titles other than a number and key. I hope this helps :-)

There is no title, but there is a dedication to Count Franz von Oppersdorf, whom the piece was written for.
