hi everyone~
i`m 16 and i`ve been playing the viola for about 7 years. i`ve always wanted to play the cello so this summer...i decided to go for it. i rented a cello today from my local music store and started reading some music. (violas play in alto clef, cellos in bass... so i just read one note higher) i just hate adjusting to the 0-1-3-4 finger pattern when on viola its always 1-2-3-4. oh well. anyways, do you guys have any tips for me about playing? what books to start with? remember, i know how to read the music. but i guess it`s just things like the finger patterns, 0-1-2-4 and when to use those, and extensions and such that confuse me because violas dont have that. thanks!
