Just wanted to inform everyone here about plans to start up a large site dealing with string instruments (both bowed and plucked kind). This will include public domain recordings, articles, technical discussions and other information concerning cello. violin, guitar and string instruments in general.

We who are starting this site have previously founded www.pianosociety.com, which has become the largest internet resource for free mp3 recordings and texts concerning the piano. This new project could do the same for strings, and offer possibilities for amateurs and professionals to promote themselves on the site, and share their recordings with the internet world.

What we are looking for now is some generous individual who has some time to set aside for this voluntary project. As the members of Piano Society are obviously not specialised in string instruments, we would be very interested in cooperation with someone from this forum. Here there are apparently many talented cellist who could provide us with much needed input.

-Do you want us to play some piece of music and submit it to your new website? You sure have a lot of people on the pianists section with public recordings.
