ive been playing from 6th grade, i`m going into 11th now

hey alyssia, i`m 16/m/from melbourne, Australia. =). Um, i started cello in yr 9, to now (i`m currently in yr 11) and my cello grade is about 3-4 or something of the like, talk to u soon.

I have been playing the cello sence i was 3 and now i am 13! i am in the tampabay youth orcestra and have seen yo yo mon the cellist live!

Reeeeal rookie here. I started learning last year so... you know how it is. I`m now learning about 2nd, 3rd, 4th position and so on.

All of y`all seem so much more experienced than I am (which I guess is true actually)... I dunno, it`s like y`all are on another plane or something. I guess after a few years I`ll reach where the rest of you are... hopefully!

Hey Carmello, well, personally, i just started 2 years back, and it`s pretty easy actually. U`l pick it up, hhehe, dont worrie. if ur really into it then i think u`ll find it just fine, good playing =)

Hey, thanks for the encouragement Dan. Actually, I think now that it`s a lot of fun playing the cello and I`ve improved a lot since the first time I started playing. I`m a leftie so the first time I tried to play a cello I was using the bow with my left hand! :0 My teacher was really puzzled at what I was doing and eventually put me right *no pun intended* So now I`ve grown accustomed to using my right hand... although I know someone who refuses to conform (she`s a violinist who changed all her strings around so she could play with her left)

hey carmello, did u know that i`m also a leftie!!! lolz, when i first started to play, i my teacher said i should have played the harp or something, but u`ll get used to everithing. Well...as for ur friend, if s/he get`s really good, it will be a veri interesting famous left hand violinest ^^)

Hey, you`re left-handed too??? That`s great! The leftie violinist I know plays in an orchestra too! It`s so funny to watch her because while all the other bows (nearly 100) are going up in one direction there`s only one bow (hers) going in the totally opposite direction! People have argued with her about it but she refused to change her strings around so she can play with her right hand instead.

Im 14/F/Oklahoma.. I started playing in the 6th grade and am about start the 9th grade.. i take with a fabulous teacher and i cant love any instrument like my cello.. Its rich and lush and powerful ^^

i have been playing the for about a year i am left handed so it is a little easier for me to do the fingerings

started when i was 4...im 15 now, so that`s 11 years. i live near dc. ummm...haven`t seen yo yo ma yet but i`m not as "in awe" of him as most cellists...
