Nah, I play just as well or better as any other person that started really young playing the cello and I started years later than them. Its not just that kids who learn forign languages fast have an fresh mind, it`s also that they have no distractions from trying to learn the languages and it`s quite different for a young kid to learn how to play a cello or whatever beacuse their parents are probably not the ones to teach their kids.

You see people, school teachers teach and the reason why I play well and not have a private teacher is because when I get something wrong, my orchestra school teacher corrected me at whatever I did wrong and what I didn`t know. So at the end I knew how to play everything without any private teachers. I am going to major in music performance and whatever I still don`t know, my teachers will teach me.

Well in my experience one of my teachers was a violinist and she could tell me what I was doing wrong ,but she could not tell me how to correct it because she was not a real cellist.

For example ,she could tell people like the violists if they were doing something wrong like a bow hold ,she could tell them how to hold it properly ,but if some one like me were to hold it wrong ,being a cellist, when I played she knew it was wrong but could not tell me exactly how to hold my bow properly. She could tell me if I had played a song wrong ,but never anything on position work. Then when I got a private teacher ,she could tell me everything I was doing wrong.(especially on position work)

I guess you are right to somewhat. She was the one that taught me how to play ,but she just didn`t teach me everything exactly right.
