I havn't played an instrument in a few years, ever since I graduated. I used to play flute, although I had always wished to play a stringed instrument (it was not within my parents budget). But now that I have gone so long without playing an instrument I miss it terribly. And out of all instruments cello is the most appealing to me, I love the deep rich sound and it is somthing I could see myself enjoying for a long time.

So I have a few questions:
What is the approximate cost of learning to play the cello? Cost of lessons, the instrument, music ect.

Would it be more efficiant for me to rent a cello for my first few months? what is the cost of renting monthly?

How difficult is this instrument to learn at an older age? I'm in my 20's.

In your opinion, what is the trickiest part of learning the cello?

thanks

Probably.

What you learn as a child tends to become more ingrained then what you learn as an adult because children are biologically programmed to absorb and retain information. On the other hand, adults can learn faster, especially young adults like you, because their brains are more physiologically developed and they have a more developed sense of perspective and priority. Either way, motivation is the most important factor.
