I am in college at the Art Institute of Atlanta. I am sixteen but it is hard for me to get to a middle or high school. You can say I`m advanced. But what about the rental cost? Is $32.00 a month good or not? I can use the money used to rent towards the purchase of a cello once I feel ready to purchase. I thank you all for all your help thus far, and I apreciate your advice.
Thanks,
Jaden

$32 a month for renting a cello? Renting a celo is bad, unless you are going to rent-to-own. Cellos are expensive, so don`t waste your money and just rent a cello and never buy it. Cellos increase in value over time, especially if you own it.

I bought an ebay cello for under 100 bucks. as far asIknow it plays and sounds great. But I am old so my hearing may be impaired. I like it and for the money I coud not lose. good luck.

I bought my cello (150years old) for $450 and it`s not worth much more than that from the damages, but to buy one that sounds the same, I would have to spend about $10,000. THAT REALLY SUCKS, so I hope it never breaks.

I love ebay, they generally have anything I want. And all of the purchases I`ve made recently have turned out ot be great investments. My parents want me to get a cheap cello because I may lose my inspiration and stop playing it. So I think ebay may be a great alternative.
Thanks,
J.C.

You have to be carefull what strings you buy on ebay. From my experience, this guy is the best as far as quality goes: http://stores.ebay.com/ONLINE-GUITAR-and-CELLO_W0QQsspagenameZl2QQtZkm
If you are just starting out, buy one of these until you develop your ear. That advise was given to me and I`m glad I took it. Plus, you can sell the thing for what you have in it when/if you decide to purchase a more expensive one. It`s really irritating listening to elitists who think that no one should buy an inexpensive cello. They would prefer that no one play at all unless they bow to them and their advise. COMMON SENSE please!
