K, so I haven't played cello in 8 years and just decided to start up again. So now i rented this beautiful cello from Mills Music the only thing is it has a really annoying case and so every time i put it in its case to store it the case catches on the pegs and makes it go out of tune. So, im thinking of just putting it away in one of my guitar stands if it will fit but im wondering if that will damage the cello at all. any thoughts?

My cello would not fit the guitar stands I have seen. They do make cello stands. I made my own from wood foam and soft felt cloth.

The cheapest/easiest way is to (if you haven't) get a soft or hard case for you cello, and simply angle the cello up in a corner in a room. Make sure the case is the right size for your cello and if you get a soft case, only get a case with padding, to prevent scratches from slight bumps.

If the case you has makes your cello go out of tune, you don't have the right size. Your case shouldn't even touch the pegs! In case you didn't know, the sizes are 1/4 - 4/4.
